The Natural Stranger
In 1926, J. Robert Oppenheimer leaves a "poisoned apple" on the desk of military physicist P.M.S. Blackett. Twenty eight years later, as industrialist Harry Stone leads the crusade against Oppenheimer, Blackett fails to prevent codebreaker Alan Turing from biting into another poisoned apple. Twenty eight more years later Stone's granddaughter Evie prepares her own apple for an unspeakable cult. Traverse Cyberia through time and space -- from warring analogists and atomists of the Classic era through attempts by modern fundamentalists to provoke Armageddon by gaining control of the military-industrial computer axis.
