News & Updates

March 7, 2005
We have completed the move to a new hosting company. We're also rebuilding our backend system. In the next few weeks our editors will begin working through the backlog of work. When the backlog is cleared, then we'll start working on the submission process.

The Underground Informer

The Underground Informer is Southern California's original online publication written by and for members of the online community. What began as an e-mailed gossip rag on a single LA-area BBS in 1990 (even before the term 'e-zine' came into vogue) is now an electronic magazine filled with an eclectic blend of fiction, commentary, humor, online news -- and whatever else we feel like writing about.

Submission Guidelines
Unsolicited submissions are welcome, but we cannot guarantee to use all submissions. We publish short stories, some political and social commentary, cartoons, humorous and serious essays, and some poetry. Submission length should be 2000 words or less, although we may consider longer pieces if they are exceptionally good. Author retains full copyright if we publish your story or article. We are a free publication with volunteer staff; sorry, we cannot pay for contributions.
